Ruben is the man!  Sometimes, nature doesn't want to play nice but you make it work anyway. Ruben drove us to the first surf spot but the waves were tiny, so he drove us 30+ minutes to another beach where the waves were a little better. Despite the pouring rain, we had a super fun session.  Because of the conditions, we didn't have very long rides but that meant we practiced popping up for nearly two hours and really refined our technique.  We caught more waves with Ruben than in any other surf lessons we've taken, and his coaching meant we kept getting better. This was the absolute best day in PV.  My son surfed and I enjoyed swimming and taking photos.  Reuben went above and beyond to make the day amazing.  Such a great teacher, brought a tent for shade, showed us the best spots, took us to the yummiest place for lunch, he thought of everything. Better than any tour we went on. Had a great time learning surfing with Ruben and Samuel. The beach was perfect for beginners, shallow with waves. They were also able to accommodate our tight schedule while maximising the amount of time we spent in the water as well. Booked a group lesson and the rest of the group ended up canceling so I inadvertently ended up with a private lesson with Leo. What an amazing experience! I ended up learning more in a couple hours than I have in 20+ hours on my own. As a beginner I cannot recommend enough taking a lesson and learning from professionals who have an obvious passion for surfing and teaching surfing. It will save you a lot of frustration and time and as much as I like to watch YouTube to try and teach myself you just can't compare that to an in-person lesson with immediate feedback of what you're doing wrong. My experience during the short time I had watching Pepe teach my kids surfing 🏄‍♀️ was an amazing experience for me. The kids loved him and his team. He was patient and informative during the teaching process. He brings great experience under his belt. He made the kids very comfortable and helped them gain confidence through the whole surfing process. I would be comming back again with the kids and have them surf with him.

Had a fantastic time surfing with Pepe and his team.  We walked over from Vidanta and he was ready and waiting with the correct boards and rash guards for our group of 8.  I have done lessons in Maui and Cancun and this was a top notch experience.  Everyone in the group was standing and riding in within a few waves and we had a fantastic day. To top it off, he sent us these great action videos that he took from the water. My only regret was not being able to squeeze in a second day for another lesson. Pepe made sure we scored today! I surf most days back home but know nothing about the spots in Puerta Vallarta so I chose to hire PV Surfing to guide me to find the best waves since there was supposed to be decent swell today.

Pepe obviously knew all the spots. We checked a couple that were walled and the 3rd spot we checked had some super clean rights with only a few guys out. We surfed until I was exhausted, probably caught 20+ waves, some pushing well overhead. One of the best days surfing I’ve had in awhile.

Even if you’re an experienced surfer, you will catch way more waves going out with a guide. None of the spots we checked were on Surfline. Avoid the crowds and catch more waves by hiring a local.

AMAZING experience. I have been surfing for about a year and I was looking for a company to take me to a pretty beach and show me the good spots. Vallarta Surfing was the PERFECT experience. We were able to find the perfect kind of waves for me that not only made me grow as a surfer but impacted my ability immensely. Going home, I now feel so confident to take on bigger waves and see more surf spots.
